My key interest is my materials -Irish hard woods Elm, Oak, Ash, Beech and Bog Oak, understanding these material and combining form, function and balance is my primary concern.

My technique of choice is woodturning but I incorporate many other working skills to the design effect. eg. chain sawing, sandblasting, metal leaf, hand carving and arborteching. Specific demands for my work have helped my style develop. My instinctive connection with the wood is balanced by knowledge of contemporary style, making the pieces popular with architects and interior designers .

I explore the natural traditional character of the wood and use it in a design-led manner.
